| This gate guarded the entrance to the Rivers Ranch at the top of Mountain Avenue in Monrovia, California. It was built in France in 1862 and was shipped around the Horn to San Francisco. Soldering was unknown then so it was assembled with rivets. Since 1962, it has stood sentry at the JRK Ranch, JR''s "Dream House" in Templeton.
