Annotation:
In Robin Cook's bestselling thriller, a UCLA medical student is shocked to learn that her grandmother has passed away after trying to find affordable medical treatment in New Delhi. Jennifer is in her fourth year at school, but she makes a special request to travel to India to try and find out what happened to her beloved grandmother, Maria. When the local Indian authorities try to shut her out, she begins to probe further, and uncovers other similar, unexplained fatalities. She turns to Dr. Laurie Montgomery, a medical examiner, for help, and both are soon in the midst of a complex, terrifying plot that reaches further than they ever could have imagined.
