Annotation:
Master of the political thriller, Brad Thor delivers gripping action in FOREIGN INFLUENCE. Scot Harvath got his initial training with the Navy SEALS, but now he works for the most secret of all U.S. government covert operations. A bombing in Rome and a hit-and-run accident in Chicago bring back a dangerous person from his past, as Harvath fights to keep America safe.
Author Bio
Brad Thor
Brad Thor's novels have found a large readership in post-9/11 America, and he is often a guest on conservative-leaning television and radio shows. "In my books, when the shackles come off and my guys take it to the terrorists, that's the way I would like to see it [in real life]," he has said. Thor was born in Chicago. In an attempt to please his father, a real estate developer, he majored in business at the University of Southern California. Before graduating in 1992, however, he changed his focus to creative writing. Although he dreamed of publishing a novel one day, he began his career in television, producing and hosting a documentary series called TRAVELING LITE. With his wife's encouragement, in 2002 he completed his first book, THE LIONS OF LUCERNE, which introduced Scot Harvath, an ex-Navy SEAL involved in covert counterterrorism operations. Thor's Harvath novels have since made regular appearances on major bestseller lists, often in the number-one spot. His fans include many members of the nation's counterterrorism and military communities, and while researching his 2009 bestseller, THE APOSTLE, he was invited to embed with a black-ops unit in Afghanistan. Thor, who counts many government officials as personal friends, has participated in the Analytic Red Cell Unit, a Department of Homeland Security program in which writers, computer programmers, and other members of the public helped formulate possible terrorist scenarios and ways to avoid them.
