From the Publisher:
LOVE CAN HAPPEN IN A HEARTBEAT
Grace never thought she'd be starting her life over from scratch. Losing everything has landed her in Lucky Harbor, working as a dog walker for overwhelmed ER doctor Josh Scott. But the day his nanny fails to show up, Grace goes from caring for Josh's lovable mutt to caring for his rambunctious son. Soon Grace is playing house with the sexy single dad . . .
With so many people depending on him, Josh has no time for anything outside of his clinic and family-until Grace arrives in town. Now this brainy blonde is turning his life inside out and giving a whole new meaning to the phrase "good bedside manner." Josh and Grace don't know if what they have can last. But in a town like Lucky Harbor, a lifetime of love starts with just one day . . .
Jill Shalvis has written more than 50 novels of contemporary romance and romantic suspense. Her work often appears on bestseller lists, and she is frequently nominated for the prestigious RITA award from the Romance Writers of America. (In 2011 she took home the prize for her novel SIMPLY IRRESISTABLE, in the category of contemporary single title romance.) Shalvis studied for a degree in journalism before deciding that she preferred "making things up," as she has told interviewers. Her first book, SUMMER OF FIRE, was published in 1996, under the pen name Jill Sheldon, which she used on a handful of her early releases. Since she began writing professionally, she has been known for her humor and her often-clueless--but appealing--heroes. "I love torturing my heroes with love," she has said. "Not sure what that says about me, but there's something about a watching a big bad alpha male suffer before getting his happily ever after." In recent years, her Lucky Harbor series--which revolves around the romantic adventures of a group of sisters trying to revive a dilapidated beach resort--has become among her most popular work. Shalvis maintains an active presence on various social-media sites, where she confesses her addiction to cookies, admits to a propensity for baggy sweatpants, and writes of living near Lake Tahoe with her husband and three children.
"Readers will treasure each turn of the page and be sorry when this one is over." (top pick) - Sabrina Cooper August 2012
