Customer Reviews of Garmin nuvi 1350T 4.3" GPS - Text to Speech - Lane Assistance - Lifetime Traffic - Refurbished
Garmin makes some of the best GPS units for the money. We buy these units for our field employees. The cost of the unit keeps our expenses down and the units work great.
Great little GPS12/31/2010
I bought this since it was better than my Wife's old unit and cost just a bit more than updating the maps on the old one. This is the first unit I have had where the UI was reasonably good. (Well, other than the C310x but that is an old unit that does not compare on other items). The spoken directions are very loud and clear (I had to turn it down a bit, in fact) I also like the fact that it auto-turns on and turns off with the car. This is one of the features I wish my GPS had.
Couldn't Live Without it12/21/2010
The 1350T was an upgrade from the Garmin 750 and I love it. Lane assist is my favorite feature. It makes sure I am in the correct lane in plenty of time to make my turn. On multilane roads, it will sometimes gray out lanes that will take me in the wrong direction. The voice is easy to understand. The screen is large enough for my old eyes to see and it is great knowing the speed limit on the GPS. Sometimes I miss the highway sign. The unit is so good I often keep it on map even when I know where I am going.
Bought for Christmas12/16/2010
Haven't used it yet, but didn't notice on the site about a holder and charger included, so I bought them seperately only to open the box and find them! So now I have two sets of holders and chargers (cigarette). Wasted money, but at least changing cars will be easier!
Got the unit in a couple of days. You can't beat the price at all. For being refurbished the unit works like a charm so far. Hooked it up when I got and it downloaded the new software and alerted me to a map update and it was a breeze updating the maps to 2011 the latest update for free. Love the Garmin Studio feature where you can use your voice for navigation instead of the voices that are preloaded. All in all, a great purchase for me.
Works nice, but did not receive the exact model or12/11/2010
I ordered this GPS, the Garmin Nuvi 1350T, but according to the model number right on the unit, I received a Garmin Nuvi 1350. They're pretty much the same, but the "T" refers to the lifetime traffic updates. As far as I can tell, they're advertising that it's the 1350T, with an emphasis on the "T", and at least for me, that is not what they are selling. In short, it's the same unit but no traffic updates. Although I thought traffic updates would be a nice feature to have, and a contributing factor in determining the value of the purchase, it was not the main feature I was looking for, and ultimately decided to keep the unit I have because it works well, and being refurbished units, I did not want to exchange it, and risk winding up with one not as nice. Overall, I'm happy with this GPS. The features it does have work nicely, and it gets me to where I need to go. I'm just left with a sour feeling because it would seem that I did not get what was advertised, and what I paid for.
This is a great GPS system and worked perfectly right out of the box. There are a few things that I was not satisfied with: 1. The battery is not user replaceable. You'll have to send it back to Garmin. 2. The mini-usb cable is not included. This is needed to connect with your computer to get maps updated. DON'T buy the one from Garmin. I bought a cable on Ebay for $3.00 with free shipping. This cable is also used for charging if you own a computer so you won't need to buy the AC charger either. 3. The full owner's manual was not included. Had to download it from the site. The manual should contain more info. Very poorly written.
