Customer Reviews of Ghost in the Shell 2-Innocence
I usually don't watch anime unless they have English dubbing. This movie didn't have any dubbing, but I still enjoyed it. Even though I had to read the sub-titles I was not distracted from the plot of the movie. It was very entertaining. I was on the edge of my seat through the entire film.
Excellent sequal to the original11/18/2004
The first 10 minutes of the movie takes some getting used to because the visuals in this movie combine 3D computer-rendered scenery with hand-drawn cell animation like the first one. The story is mostly about Batou and what his life has become since the first movie. The plot involves a series of murders committed by lifelike "doll" cyborgs that are designed for "pleasure" -- called gynoids. Ishikawa, the Chief, and Togusa are all back (if some only briefly) - same Japanese voice actors. The action is accentuated by the enhanced CG sequences (some of which put Final Fantasy to shame in their detail and beauty), and the narrative waxes as philisophical as the first movie. Overall, this is an excellent movie worth watching/owning.
