Notes & Personnel Info
Muze PNote Radio once had a prominence in homes that made it the very template for television when that medium overtook and largely superseded radio. This three-disc set, the third of a three-volume chronological series, provides a varied documentary-style survey of radio between 1944 and 1946, presenting shows like an episode of The Fred Allen Show, songs and musical interludes by Frank Sinatra, Jo Stafford, and others, and memorable speeches like General Eisenhower's announcement of the D-Day landings, as well as other odds and ends that re-create the bygone Golden Age of Radio. ~ Steve Leggett
