Author Bio
Sharon Salzberg
Sharon Salzberg discovered Buddhist meditation as a teenager, and found that it provided emotional healing and centering after a chaotic childhood of foster homes and intense self-doubt. In the mid-1970s, Salzberg started conducting meditation seminars and retreats, teaching both the insight (Vipassana) meditation technique and loving-kindness (Metta) meditation technique. She co-founded the Insight Meditation Society. With a down-to-earth personality and writing style, she has introduced Buddhist meditation and philosophy to countless individuals through her books, magazine articles, cassettes, and retreats.
