Installation went fine but would only connect to G clients regardless of setting the mode on fixed or only B. Customer support was dumbfounded. It functioned this way for a couple of weeks and now cannot connect with any client. Wouldn't recomend trying this product

It seems like every media outlet complains that too few people enable any type of security on Wi-Fi networks. They would do well to point the finger at the hardware vendors and this product might be a place to start. It's hard to configure WEP on this thing and my unit didin't support WPA without a firmware upgrade. Out of the box, the unit didn't work according to the instructions. (The nicest thing I can say about the documentation of this product is that it exists. Other than that, it wasn't helpful.) I needed to use two different PCs to configure this device. If your LAN isn't completely vanilla and unsecured you'll need to know a little bit about TCP/IP to get the range extender working. BUT, once it's working, it's FANTASTIC. It's important to note that there aren't too many other products which do what this does. My previous solution to Wi-Fi deadspots in my house was an old PC with two wireless cards in the basement.
