| The HOD10IP Hi-Gain Outdoor Dual-Band 10dBi Omni-Directional Antenna Kit is a heavy-duty, weather proof antenna for extending the range of your 802.11 a/b/g/n Wi-Fi devices. The HOD10IP increases the wireless strength from a standard 2dBi (decibels) to a staggering 10dBi, resulting in a 300% increase in the wireless coverage and strength. DUAL-BAND FLEXIBILITY: HOW IT WORKS The 2.4GHz is the most commonly used wireless bandwidth. It also has a limited number of bandwidth for multiple activities, such as sending emails, video chatting, streaming movies, playing games, etc. In addition, the same 2.4GHz frequency is also shared between different devices (i.e. laptops, tablets, smart phones, TV, gaming consoles, and other common household devices like microwaves and cordless phones). This causes interference and major backlog with your online activities. The Dual-Band technology provides maximum flexibility for your Dual-Band compatible devices to connect to the popular 2.4GHz frequency and also off-load traffic to a faster less-crowded 5.0GHz frequency. While the 5.0GHz runs at a higher throughput rate, its wireless strength is limited. The HOD10IP strengthens and extends Dual-Band signal for long range, high traffic wireless networks.  OMNI-DIRECTIONAL ANTENNA FOR LONG RANGE POINT-TO-MULIPLE POINT WI-FI APPLICATIONS: 360º HORIZONTAL WIRELESS COVERAGE This type of antenna has a donut shape signal pattern which allows 360º horizontal coverage and can deliver very long communications distances in multiple directions, but is limited coverage for close-by devices. Use a single HOD10IP to extend your wireless coverage in all directions. It is ideal for point-to-multiple point solutions. As shown in the diagram to the right, the HOD10IP is connected to a Dual-Band Access Point/Bridge to transmit he signal to another HOD10IP and Dual-Band Bridge combinations, using access point and bridge mode respectively.  PLUG-AND-PLAY INSTALLATION Installation of the HOD10I[P is simple and straightforward. It is compatible with most wireless devices (access points, routers, bridges, and network adapters) on the market with removable external antennas. The Hawking Antenna comes equipped with N-Type to SMA connectors to support a wide range of wireless devices. For those devices that use adapters not included in the packaging, please visit the Hawking Technologies website (www.hawkingtech.com) for a selection of specific connectors for your device. Once you have mounted and connected your Hi-Gain™ Outdoor Dual-Band 10dBi Omni-Directional Antenna, be sure to note the signal pattern of the antenna. While the HOD10IP has a donut shape signal pattern which allows 360º horizontal coverage and can deliver very long communications distances in multiple directions, but is limited coverage for closeby devices. Be sure to stay within the coverage range. The antenna provides 360° horizontal coverage and 7~10° in a vertical coverage. It is recommended that your devices is not place directly above/under the antenna.
