From the Publisher:
Cousin Annie is moving -- and she's moving next door to Henry and his big dog Mudge! Annie is nervous about leaving friends...changing schools...and about what might happen to all her frilly dresses on that moving truck. Henry wants to help Annie feel better, and with a dog like Mudge around, her move is bound to be a good one after all.Annie's got the moving jitters. Most of all, she's worried about leaving friends and changing schools. Luckily, Henry and Mudge have a solution for Annie's worries. Full color.
Annotation:
Henry is excited when his cousin Annie announces that she is moving into the house next door to his. He busily starts planning all the good times they'll have as neighbors, but then he realize that Annie isn't as excited about her upcoming move as he is, especially because she's worried about missing her old friends. Luckily, Henry and his loyal dog Mudge know just the right way to help Annie feel better about the move. Color illustrations accompany the text of this beginning reader book.
Author Bio
Cynthia Rylant
Multifaceted author Cynthia Rylant is the creator of picture books, poetry, short stories, and novels. Raised primarily in West Virginia by both her mother and her maternal grandparents, Rylant had a rustic but happy childhood. Her first book, WHEN I WAS YOUNG IN THE MOUNTAINS, is a reflection of her childhood and was named a Caldecott Honor Book. Her 1985 work, THE RELATIVES CAME, also received that honor. In addition to these picture books, Rylant is well known for her easy-reader series that focuses on the adventures of a boy named Henry and his lovable dog, Mudge. Her young adult novel A FINE WHITE DUST was named a Newbery Honor Book in 1987.

Kirkus Reviews
"Rylant thoughtfully addresses Annie's dilemma, validating a child's concerns and providing a generous solution. Stevenson's gaily colored pen-and-ink illustrations provide a perfect counterpart to the story, deftly highlighting Annie's vulnerability as well as the humor in Henry and Mudge's antics." 08/15/1998
