Customer Reviews of History Channel: Civil War A Nation Divided
History Channel Civil War; A Nation Divided6/12/2007
History Channel's Civil War; A Nation Divided, is a strategic game that takes palce in the mid 1800's during the dreadful American Civil War. The concept of the video game is to start as either a Union Soldier or a rebellious soldier of the Confederacy. The plying itself includes the player to engage in a strategic combat mode that requires you as a soldier to use combat to kill the enemies' troops and seek victory on the battle field. This game includes historcally accurate clothing and weaponary that helps add to the overall effect of the game. The individual will get an understanding of the overall strategy of both sides that fought in the war, with exciting history content supplied by the History Channel. the graphics were not demonstrated in a poor manor, and the difficulty ws farely easy. overall i only reconmend this game for people who enjoy the history of the Civil War.
History Channel's Civil War: A Nation Divided is a game obviously based on the Civil War, but not only that, it lets you play the game through the two sides of the Civil War. This game easily demonstrates the intensity and ferocity of the war. The Campaigns let you decided which side you would like to play on; The North (Union), or the South (Confederacy). There is an option where if you play as the South, and if you happen to beat the campaign, then it will "Change History." Overall the game was mediocre. From the graphics that look as if they were from the 90's, to the 3-10 second reload after every shot of your rifle, and to the inacuracy of the rifles, the game wasn't all that good. When you shoot somebody, its really hard to tell if you hit or missed a person because as soon as you shoot, a cloud of smoke from your rifle will cloud up the screen for about 3 seconds, leaving your vulnerable from bullets for a period of time in which you could use trying to hide for cover. If you are planning on playing this game for some to play over and over again, I would not recommend getting this. This game is single player only, there is no online play, and it seems to be very repetitive with their game play. If you need to write an essay on an artifact on the Civil War, then this game is for you due to how its historical accuracy.
