From the Publisher:
Japanese artist Katsushika Hokusai (1760-1849) published many volumes of manga, or sketches. Unlike the modern storytelling images of the same name, these manga are individual sketches of many subjects, including people, flowers, and animals. These were typically printed as reproduced here, from woodblocks in three colors: black, gray, and a pale flesh tone. |
