Editor's Note It is well known that during tumultuous periods of global conflict, Hollywood actors and actresses turned out in droves and rallied together to show support for the war efforts. This sprawling box set pays homage to such celebrity patriotism, with 43 celebrity-toplined war documentaries pulled from the vaults of the U.S. National Archives. Stars appearing in this collection include Paul Newman, Jimmy Stewart, Orson Welles, John Wayne, Lucille Ball, Katharine Hepburn and many others. Included among the collection are DECEMBER 7TH, and John Huston's controversial, long-banned account of G.I. psychiatric treatment and recovery, LET THERE BE LIGHT. Conflicts represented here include World War II, Korea and Vietnam.
