A Love Story in Reverse.
| "How I Met Your Mother is a fresh comedy about Ted (Josh Radnor) and how he fell in love. When Ted's best friends Marshall (Jason Segel) and Lilly (Alyson Hannigan) decide to tie the knot it sparks the search for his own Miss Right. Helping him in his quest is his bar-hopping ""wing-man"" Barney (Neil Patrick Harris), a confirmed bachelor with plenty of wild schemes for picking up women. Ted's sites are set on the charming and independent Robin (Cobie Smulders), but destiny may have something different in mind. Told through a series of flashbacks, Ted recalls his single days, the highs and lows of dating and the search for true love. This three disc collection includes all 22 episodes from Season One of How I Met Your Mother!" |
"...one of the funniest new sitcoms of the season. Shawn McKenzie, Entertain Your Brain!
"A fresh and spirited comedy... Barry Garron, The Hollywood Reporter
"...[a] bright, cleverly constructed half-hour that features a topnotch cast and a sly, too-good-to-give-away twist. Brian Lowry, Variety
"The premise of the series is effective, and by employing a unique way of unraveling the story threads, it does not strike one as a standard sitcom. Chad Webb, 411Mania.com
"...offers a terrific ensemble cast, has heart and remains consistently funny throughout. CurrentFilm.com
"Sharp and sentimental, like Seinfeld with feeling. Robert Lloyd, Los Angeles Times
"...driven by smart, witty jokes and dialogue that sustains itself with Judd Apatow-like writing and Seinfeld-esque timing. Ryan Keefer, DVD Verdict

Editor's Note
Though HOW I MET YOUR MOTHER has the look of a traditional, multi-camera sitcom, this comedy has all the fun and smarts of fellow critical darlings 30 ROCK and ARRESTED DEVELOPMENT. Told via a giant flashback, the twist-filled series is narrated from the perspective of Ted Mosby in the year 2030 as he tells his daughter and son how he met their mother more than 20 years ago. Young Ted (Josh Radnor) is inspired by the romance of his roommate Marshall (FORGETTING SARAH MARSHALL's Jason Segel) and his fiancée Lily (BUFFY's Alyson Hannigan), and he decides to embark on his own search for love. Aided in his quest by wingman Barney "Have you met Ted?" Stinson (Neil Patrick Harris), Ted looks all over New York City for the future Mrs. Mosby. When he meets Robin (Cobie Smulders), he thinks his quest may be over, but it's not as easy as it seems. HOW I MET YOUR MOTHER boasts a strong cast, but it's Harris who steals every scene as the womanizing Barney, who has the most quotable catchphrases since SEINFELD. Suit up for every episode of the show's first season.
