A Love Story in Reverse.
| "The woman of his dreams is out there -- the question is, who is she? Told in a series of flash backs, How I Met Your Mother is the hilariously unpredictable story of how twenty-something Ted meets his soul mate and says goodbye to the singles world of pick-up lines, one night stands, and relationship ""deal-breakers."" With friends Marshall and Lily's wedding fast approaching, the outrageously inappropriate Barney remains a consummate bachelor, while Ted's romance with Robin heats up, but is she really the one for him? Things have a funny way of working out in this delightfully fresh and fast-paced comedy. This three disc collection includes all 22 episodes from Season Two of How I Met Your Mother!" |
"...one of the funniest new sitcoms of the season. Shawn McKenzie, Entertain Your Brain!
"A fresh and spirited comedy... Barry Garron, The Hollywood Reporter
"...[a] bright, cleverly constructed half-hour that features a topnotch cast and a sly, too-good-to-give-away twist. Brian Lowry, Variety
"The premise of the series is effective, and by employing a unique way of unraveling the story threads, it does not strike one as a standard sitcom. Chad Webb, 411Mania.com
"...offers a terrific ensemble cast, has heart and remains consistently funny throughout. CurrentFilm.com
"Sharp and sentimental, like Seinfeld with feeling. Robert Lloyd, Los Angeles Times
"...driven by smart, witty jokes and dialogue that sustains itself with Judd Apatow-like writing and Seinfeld-esque timing. Ryan Keefer, DVD Verdict

Editor's Note
Though HOW I MET YOUR MOTHER has the look of a traditional, multi-camera sitcom, this comedy has all the fun and smarts of fellow critical darlings 30 ROCK and ARRESTED DEVELOPMENT. Told via a giant flashback, the twist-filled series is narrated from the perspective of Ted Mosby in the year 2030 as he tells his daughter and son how he met their mother more than 20 years ago. Young Ted (Josh Radnor) is inspired by the romance of his roommate Marshall (FORGETTING SARAH MARSHALL's Jason Segel) and his fiancée Lily (BUFFY's Alyson Hannigan), and he decides to embark on his own search for love. Aided in his quest by wingman Barney "Have you met Ted?" Stinson (Neil Patrick Harris), Ted looks all over New York City for the future Mrs. Mosby. Season two finds him happily coupled with Canadian beauty--and commitment-phobe--Robin (Cobie Smulders), and it's Marshall and Lily who suddenly aren't so sure of their future. The second season also reveals the secrets of Barney's awesome apartment in "World's Greatest Couple," and Robin's mysterious--and hilarious--past is uncovered in fan favorite "Slap Bet." This release includes every legendary episode of the Emmy-winning show's second season.
