HP really hit it with this one, pixel response is amazing - no ghosting even on fast games: CS: Source, Guild Wars, NFS:U - games are beautiful at 1920 x 1280 resolution, my limitation is the video card =( Radeon 9800XT - u NEED a next gen. card. Great for watching movies, and I love that it includes S-Video/Component/RCA inputs - I hooked it up to my PS2 via the S-Video and this moniter is better than TV. Very versatile as far as adjustment goes (has tilt, swivel, height, rotation), height adjustment works well, the monitor does not slide down at all, but when you are trying to move the moniter anywhere, if u grab it at the top where there is a little handle in the back, the moniter will fully extend (it has a telescoping neck) before you can pick it up. That, and it is tremendously heavy, but I guess that goes with the size ;) This moniter is HUGE btw - I have a dual set-up with a 19" next to it and it really dwarfs it. One useful setting: this moniter will scale images several ways: 1:1: for example, with a 640x480 game, it will literally use 640x480 pixels in the middle of the screen, and so on. full scale: it will stretch the image to full screen despite distortion propotional: 4:3 images will shown to scale, but the lateral edges will be black, so there is no distortion of image, same goes with 16:9 images, you will get black bars at the top and bottom. I was considering two Dell 2001FPS instead of this, but I do not regret my choice, even if it is many hundreds of dollars more expensive, the advantage of having one widescreen as opposed to two 4:3 moniters is a lot, this widescreen is basically like having 2 moniters in itself, and it is far more useful as far as editing/developing goes, because of the amount of flexible space in one place, as opposed to having to move constantly between 2 4:3 monitors. Still, if you can, play with a 16:10 (thats right, not 16:9, that is 1920x1200/WUXGA reso.) monitor and see if its worth it for you. (And no I am not rich or spoiled, I'm a college student that works, and I saved up for months for a new monitor and deliberated over this purchase endlessly - and unless you are Mac user dont even bother with that one, I've read that many people are having color issues - not a problem here - I am a web developer and graphic designer, so color accuracy is a MUST)

I was originally going to get the new Apple 23" display, but since every single one of those seems to have a discoloration problem, I picked this HP instead. The specs match or outperform the Apple display of the same size, and you have multiple input options. I love this monitor so far. Plus it's a pivoting display! Definitely worth the price.

Great monitor

by Chris on 10/14/2004

Very nice monitor. VERY clear and crisp graphics and text. Pivot software works well (assuming you download the free upgrade). 3 yr warranty definitely gives peace of mind. Very satisfied. This product is made with the quality that HP originally made their printers with.
