Works with Windows 7 on USB only, no network suppo
The product was reasonably accurately represented. It's actually quite a nice printer. Printing on both sides slows the printer down quite a bit below the rated speed, but that's pretty normal for desktop printers that can automatically duplex. However, I bought a "refurbished" model and the printer did not come with any toner cartridge at all, not even the "starter" cartridge that some manufacturers include with just enough toner to print a few dozen pages and give you time to order a real one. That was an easy fix. The other problem is that this printer is old enough that there are only USB drivers available for it for Windows 7. If you hope (as I did) to share this printer with another computer over a network, you are out of luck. Unfortunately, I did not check the HP site for drivers before I received the printer, and there was no CD or manual included either (all easily available for download from HP). In short, this printer does not meet my needs, as nice as it is. Someone is going to get a nice auto-duplex Windows 7-compatible USB printer because I had to go buy another unit that would do what I need.
