Customer Reviews of HP OfficeJet 6500A Plus Wireless e-All-in-One Color Inkjet Printer
World Class Crap10/9/2012
Please do not buy this printer unless you want false paper jam errors and useless help from HP support.

When the replacement arrived- all worked perfectly
life is now a little easier - GREAT printer and sc5/23/2012
I recently have had the pleasure of installing and using this new printer from HP. Out of the box, this printer is a bit larger than I expected. It has trays, the double-sided print attachment, and feeders that make the size physically a bit larger than my last home desktop printer.

The printer is very nosie and slow. The print quitly is fair
very easy setup on all my home PCs. no issues with Windows 7, Vista, or XP connecting and working wirelessly. Very limited use so far but print quality is very good and overall the unit is user friendly and works great. Software takes a long time to load, but no problems/errors across multiple windows versions.
Great Wireless Printer3/26/2012
Outstanding ease of setup, Functionality and delivery!! Anyone could set this printer up on a network. It basically does it itself.
maybe I got a lemon but3/12/2012
this HP Officejet 6500A plus is the most frustrating printer scanner fax I have ever purchased! It keeps telling me its not connected to the computer. I have removed it and reinstalled it several times. Faxing over my wireless connection is 'maybe'. Most often it will not connect. I have bought many HP printers and this one is in a league of its own. I will be looking at other brands now
Your Average Printer1/24/2012
Like many printers on the market, the physical product itself is cheap and chinsy. Otherwise, the design is good, the printing average, and the cost for print pages slightly less than other pritners, in my experience.
really does it all, print, scan and more
Ordered the HP 6500A as a replacement for my main printer. We have several laptops in our family and wanted the ability for everyone to print wirelessly using our home WiFi network. The set up was relatively simple with the software provided, but took a couple of goes to make everything work right...about 15-30 minutes altogether. The print quality is great. Scans and copies well too. Haven't had to replace ink yet, so we'll see how economical it prints. The best feature of this is the convenience of being able to use my laptop in a chair and print across the room, without having to physically connect to a printer or download the file to a flash drive and plug into another wired computer/printer combo to print. Freakin' magic!
Great printer but lousy software12/27/2011
This printer is great IF you connect it to your network via ethernet cable. Printing, scanning, etc. can not be beat for the money. However, if you decide to use it as a network printer wirelessly, be prepared for frustration. The software allows you to connect PROVIDED you have immediately shut the printer off and restarted it. The connection will stay active for about 24 hours and then you will have to shut it off and turn it back on if you want to use it. If you get an 80400272 error on the screen as you turn it off, don't bother trying to find out what it means because you won't find it. Only one other (minor) problem with it is that the keypad is a touch keypad. I would have preferred buttons.
BEST ALL-IN-ONE FOR THE $$$12/16/2011
This is the best all-in-one machine under $100. Multi sheet feeder for both the copier and the scanner. Color copies. Reasonable replacement costs for cartridges. What else could you want in this price range? Only complaints are: 1. no double sided printing 2. I am on my 3rd one in a year, with the copies made through the auto feeder resulting in a vertical line along one end of the page. HP is excellent about walking you through various fixes and then sending out a replacement unit (with new cartridges!). Like I said: best all-in-one under a hundred bucks.
I bought it on sale and feel terrific about the value. My old printer is an HP and still works well after 7 years, however, I needed to upgrade to wireless for the new computer. The features are just right and the 2 sided print/copy feature works just as it should. It arrived in perfect condition and was easy to set up. I love the AirPrint and ePrint features. The apps might be unnecessary. I have to figure out how to cancel a test subscription to a recipe app that prints automatically each day. I cannot testify to the ink consumption rate yet as I have only had it for a week.
it arrived on time, i found scratches on the two-side device. very easy to connect and setup the network, I had a 4-in-1 wireless HP before.
my employer bought one from costco9/10/2011
horrible printer, default uses maximum ink, pain to change it, horribly slow, when in draft mode it will actually spew paper out of the tray takes forever to spool up, my Epson RX580 kicks this toilet into the drainage system no problem, this toilet is designed to use INK, that you will have to buy from, yes HP
Nothing bad to say about this workhorse!5/19/2011
This is the best printer I've ever had, hands down. I threw my Kodak ESP-7 printer (the worst I've ever had) and upgraded to this one. Installation was very easy and intuitive. It has a lot of features and it does it all well and with much economy of ink. Love it!!!!
Wonderful if it worked4/22/2011
I bought this (for a lot more money) and wish I hadn't. It has stopped printing in color on pages I print on line. It can still print a photo in color but if I print something that has a photo and text it's not going to be in color. Very frustrating. Have all new HP cartridges and that didn't help--don't know what else to do. My old HP prints better and I guess I am going back to it and just eat this thing as an expensive mistake. Never could get the wireless to work but that might have been me. My last HP and that's the only brand I would buy before!
C-Net said it was great . . . they were right!11/2/2010
Easily set it up on our wireless network . . . Scan, Fax, Copy, Print! No problem. Does take a little longer to start printing than my HP7150, but finishes faster
