Update: Windows 7 arrived promptly. Upgrade proced1/4/2010
Just wanted to say, the upgrade procedure to Windows 7 is simple and easy. In fact, you do it all online. You get a confirmation email, then in a couple days you get another one stating your upgrade has been approved and a couple days after that you get another email which says your copy of Windows 7 has been shipped. HP and/or the company they hired to do the upgrades doesn't make you pay for S&H or anything - it's about as easy as it gets.
great computer; free upgrade to Windows 712/25/2009
Hi. I hadn't purchased a new computer in years - except for a couple laptops. This computer is amazing - fast, really fast compared to what I am accustomed to. The free upgrade to Windows 7 was easy and very quick - as was shipping and receipt. I haven't received the Windows 7 upgrade yet so I cannot comment on compatibility - but I think it will be fine. I cannot tell why this system is sold as refurbished - everything works great. I've had it running 24/7 since receipt and so far no problems. Quiet. The case is on the large size - I deliberately did not want to "slim" version. One thing: it seems there is a PCI card installed with contacts in the back for . . . I believe FM and cable. I have not explored this yet and it isn't mentioned in the description. Something to keep in mind - could be another plus. 8GB of ram is nice. This is probably not a computer for avid gamers - but since I am not one I cannot say for sure. But I imagine you'd want a separate video card. Buy one!!
