Product Overview

The art of the con is not dead. You merely can not see it. If you do see it, then it is inevitably always too late. It is an invisible crime built on the premise of finding someone who wants something for nothing and then giving them nothing for something. Choose the mark, reel them in, play on their desires and set them up. It does not matter whether they are black or white, male of female but they must be strictly major league. There are no quick fixes. Patience is truly a virtue in this game. All you have to do is make them believe.Format: DVD MOVIE

Review In almost all but its country of origin and episode count, Hustle is an American show. Its flashy, briskly paced forays into the weekly escapades of a group of con artists may pay ample lip service to Steven Soderbergh's Ocean's Eleven remake, but a more overt influence would be the U.S. runaway success that is C.S.I. : Crime Scene Investigation. The con artists in question may not know it but they're a demographic chasing bunch, covering both sexes, multi-ethnic and of varying age. Moreover, they're all ridiculously glamorous, only speak the smartest of lines and always get their man (or woman, as the case may be)...This is a show designed for success, which means keeping things as simple as possible so that, theoretically at least, the variations are infinite.

Review "Hustle," which each week finds a smoothly integrated quintet of con artists scamming their mark, has the sharpness of the recent remakes of "Italian Job" and "Ocean's Eleven" and plots that circle a single con with a surfeit of fun incidentals. Following raves in the U.K. over two seasons, "Hustle" should develop a healthy following during its 18-week run..."Hustle" has its farfetched moments, which never detract, but Bharat Nalluri's keen direction keeps the action fluid and linear. Storylines in the first two segs have a splendid rationale that would only reveal holes upon unnecessarily close inspection. Top-notch production values deserve imitation in the U.S.

Preston Jones, DVD Talk ...flashy cinematography, attention-grabbing edits...a wry sense of humor courses through each story...
