Neil Harrison, a lawyer in Philadelphia, was finally sober and had slowly begun rebuilding his life and career. Then, just months before election day for the new president, an old college friend from law school, Nathan Davidson, was found shot to death in his Baltimore home. Nathan was the lawyer for Senator James McGregor, a presidential candidate. When Neilas ex-wife Natalie, a television reporter from Baltimore, shows up in Philadelphia, itas not to just pay a visit. She tells Neil two things: she had been dating Nathan, and she has a disk of Nathanas with information that may have been the cause of his murder. Also, the information could bring Senator McGregoras campaign and career to an end. Now Neil and Natalie are not only wanted by Senator McGregor, but also by the vice president as well, the other candidate for president. A third mysterious person is also in the hunt for Neil, Natalie and the disk.
