Don t make me angry. You wouldn t like me when I m angry." Mild-mannered research scientist David Banner (Emmy nominee Bill Bixby) finds he must offer this heroic warning after exposure to gamma radiation transforms him into the terrifying and enraged Hulk (Lou Ferrigno). Bursting from comic book pages into this 4-disc DVD set, the Complete First Season of The Incredible Hulk boasts all ten heart-pounding episodes, plus a preview episode from Season Two. Must-see bonus materials include the two original feature-length films, an introduction from The Hulk himself (Ferrigno), and in-depth commentary from producer Kenneth Johnson. Intense. Immense. Editor's Note
Bill Bixby stars in this classic television series inspired by the comic book, which ran from 1978 to 1982. When withdrawn research scientist David Banner is accidentally exposed to toxic radiation, even the smallest agitation transforms him from man to monster. Bright green and enormous, the Incredible Hulk crushes anyone in his path, defeating his enemies left and right. This set contains all 10 episodes from the show's first season, a preview episode of season two, and two feature-length films, plus commentary by producer Kenneth Johnson.

5 stars out of 5 -- "[T]he show managed to effortlessly build both a classic everyman hero in Banner while also delivering green-skinned action via his alter ego." 09/01/2006 p.195 8 of 10
Dr. David Banner (Bixby) has been working on a way to harness the raw power of the human being. You know, the raw power that can turn ordinary schmoes into superheroes when their adrenaline kicks in during emergency situations...I really think that the reason this show worked was that they didn't focus on the destructive power of The Hulk, rather the stories told of his alter-ego, David Banner, who would wonder from town to town looking for someone to help him find a way to reverse his experiment. In the process, he would help out his fellow members of the human race with his powers. (This was an excuse to have lots of guest stars every week, of course.) Bixby was good as Banner, and he seemed to understand that his job was to make sure that the journey of turning into the Hulk was a clear and believable as possible from week to week. Ferrigno...well, I mean, anybody who can be a better Hulk than a mess of CGI has something going on for him, don't you think?
