Handles any quantum of load, most importantly without overheating.
Great dual core processor for my HTPC. It can handle anything I throw at it, including all 1080p (under XBMC).
Runs nice and cool7/31/2008
Stays around 29-30 degrees with decent cooling. Hasn't exceeded 40 under full load (running nortons, internet, itunes, and some installs all going at the same time). Hard to decide between this and and the lower end quad-cores but in the end I think I made the right decision. I have seen the E8500 now for as low as what I paid for this on just 07-06-08.
Man this processor is amazing. I am coming from an amd x4200 2.2 to this....Very stable so far running at 4.0ghz. I would recommend this chip for gaming and multitasking. Make sure to get a good aftermarket cooling for overclocking. I am sure the heatsink is fine that came with it for mild overclocking. I am sure I could push further, but why? I ran prime for 10 hours straight with no errors. Get it now~!
