Customer Reviews of Intel Core i7-2600K Processor with 8MB Cache, 3.40 GHz for socket LGA1155 - Unlocked
upgraded from Intel G540. no issues, nice and fast.
This processor matched with a good z68 motherboard equals unstoppable power. Overclocks very easily. Just make sure you get a good cooling solution like a corsair h80 to keep it cool. If your not into overclocking I would suggest going with the 2600 instead of the 2600k and save some money. If your patient then wait for the new ivy bridge 3770k processors which are suppose to be release soon.
I built a new computer a couple months ago and used this CPU. It is awesome! Performance wise it is a great deal for the price. I am running windows 7 and have had no issues what so ever. Installation was simple. I would highly recommend this processor to anyone thinking about building a system.
The one to use2/24/2012
I've been using a WinXP computer forever and finally decided it was upgrade. Decided it was time for my first build project, and wanted the best shelf life I could get from the new comp, so I went with the top end CPU. I did my research to find out that I could overclock both CPU and GPU with a Z68 motherboard. Build went smooth and new comp is fast and stable (so far) - 2 weeks!
Great CPU at a descent price1/27/2012
The CPU arrived and is performing excellent as expected. Coming from a Pentium M to this is unbelievable how fast the CPU is. I rarely even push it to 30 or 40% Great job.
Man does this thing scream! I have it in an Intel DH67CL mobo and I am very impressed. I haven't tried gaming or editing video yet but I am sure that it will handle them with no problem.
working fine on Z687/10/2011
I've installed on Intel's Z68 motherboard with stock air cooling. The built-in Intel HD Graphics (HDMI) is working fine for my Windows 7. I am not a gamer and enjoy avoiding the expense/power/heat/noise of a discrete graphics card. Measured from wall my PC is often using just under 50 watts (not including monitor), although peak can be closer to 100w watts.
