Full of life--the good, the bad, and the heartbreaking--Naylor''s latest Alice book reminds readers just how much can change in an instant, as Alice and her friends reunite for a funeral.
From the Publisher:
Thinking of simpler times in the past and the happy moments they had together, Pam wishes she could bring the old gang back together, but when a tragic event results in a funeral, the reunion touches all their lives in ways no one could have expected.
Sexuality, religious faith, and death come up for Alice in the intense summer before senior year. Alice is determined to have fun before school starts again, and while the gang spends evenings at the Stedmeister's pool, plans are made. Volunteering at a soup kitchen as a group is one of them, and Alice visiting Patrick at the University of Chicago during her cousin's wedding is another. Alice wonders if she's ready to go all the way with Patrick, and what changes that will bring to their relationship. This is the 21st book in the timeless Alice series, which often appears on the American Library Association's list of most Challenged or Banded Books.
