Annotation:
Prolific writer of spiritual and healing literature Caroline Myss adds to her list of bestselling books with INVISIBLE ACTS OF POWER: PERSONAL CHOICES THAT CREATE MIRACLES. She encourages the reader to embrace the power of divine grace and allow it to flow to others through random, and sometimes less spontaneous, acts of generosity and compassion. Myss began this volume by collecting anecdotes shared on her Web site (culled from over 1200 letters sent within six days of her request) about her readers' encounters with grace and acts of service that changed their lives. From her original intention to pen a simple book about how people are moved to help one another, she found herself led into a spiritual awakening. The experience of sharing her readers' accounts of helping and kindness inspired this lavish guide to the practice of expressing compassion. Myss has organized INVISIBLE ACTS OF POWER along the lines of the seven chakras, explaining which chakra represents which human issue, and her discovery that the readers' letters fell into seven corresponding categories. The inspiring anecdotes in each section illustrate Myss's belief in a shared grace, and encourage the reader to embrace a life of giving as a path to receiving the highest possible gifts.
Author Bio
Caroline Myss
Caroline Myss grew up in the Chicago area and pursued a career in journalism. With her Bachelors degree from St. Mary of the Woods College in Indiana, she began working as a freelance writer. Inspired by an Elizabeth Kubler-Ross seminar, Myss studied for and received a Masters degree in Theology from Mundelein College, then she traveled east and founded Stillpoint Publishing, a small company based in New Hampshire. It was in New Hampshire that Myss discovered her talent for intuitive medicine. She left her company and studied under Dr. C. Norman Shealy, refining her skills. She then returned to Chicago and wrote her classic ANATOMY OF THE SPIRIT. Since then, Myss has traveled the world offering seminars and workshops on holistic medicine and intuitive health.
