Solid Product -- Good Performance
The GCS1762 is very easy to setup in a Windows environment. It comes out-of-box configured with hot keys for switching systems easily on Windows keyboards; MAC users will want to get into the utility to customize the hot keys which is a little more work. I bought the product to take advantage of the higher quality and better performance of DVI digital connectivity to my Dell 24" widescreen monitor from both my desktop and laptop (docking station). To that end, I accomplished my goal. The display looks significantly better on both systems when connected via DVI as opposed to VGA. The Windows Vista AERO interface was lagging a bit on VGA and sometimes I would see delays in painting the screen where one applications' window would "bleed through" to another as I toggled from one to the other. No more issues with DVI. The only problem I've seen thus far occurs when switching systems through the hot keys, the keyboard is either a bit slow or erratic when a key is pressed immediately. It either does not register the key press, or it repeats the key press 4 or 5 times (not good when your entering a password on the target system). To avoid the issue, I wait a few seconds after switching with the hot keys if I am entering a windows logon or locked computer password. Strangely enough, the problem does not seam to occur when I use the front panel buttons.
