KVM switching made super-easy
I researched just about every PS/2 KVM switch on the market and was ready to by a Belkin before I spotted the IOGEAR GCS82B switch. I went with the IOGEAR because it offered everything I needed in a KVM switch and it also comes with all the cables you need for operation. It only took a few minutes to set up the device and it works like a champ. I don't even need to keep it on my desk because of the hotkey keyboard operation. Clicking either the left or right "Control" key twice switches between the two computers flawlessly. I don't really have a need for the auto-scan feature but if I did, it would be my only complaint. The instructions claim a 5 second auto-scan time but when implemented, it switches between my two PC's every two seconds, barely enough time to see what is on the screen. If given the chance, would I buy this switch again....you bet. I could have spent more to allow USB and/or audio sharing but that would have been overkill for my needs. One more note but hardly a make or break point, the two port unit is very small and stylish, a nice complement to any computer setup.
