Does what it is supposed to do2/24/2009
Switching with hotkeys is clunky. Mouse emulation does not work with some systems. Video quality is much better than the bargain units. I've seen these on sale for $2O less than I paid here, but when in need, you pay the price. Overall, if you need a decent unit and don't want to spend a few hundred dollars, it's a good choice. If you must use a usb mouse and keyboard, look for a different model. This one is for PS/2 Mice and Keyboards.
Problem - would not connect3/26/2007
Early on I had a problem with the three key not working. If you do it fast on a new keyboard that is OK, but it still did not work consistently. At times it would not recognize the mouse and thus had no power or control. It is possible my equipment might have been a factor but I had no problem with the 2-port version or another brand 4-port. Manufacturer said they would replace but did not follow through. No problem with Buy.com. Their service is great.
The device has worked well for me. Cables conveniently embed all connections in a sinle wire, then split out from the video plug. The gathering point is a little awkward to position. An eyelet or two for hanging with a wire tie might help.
