The set up was easy but the instructions were printed in small print (font 5, no kidding), so once I realized formatting was required everything was smooth from that point on. It is great product to have as a backup. It does get a little warm, so I'll move it to a more open area.
Looks just like my PowerMac..10/19/2008
Pros: Nice aluminum finish, matches my G5 PowerMac. Has 4 different connection options. I'm using the FireWire 800 port to connect for time machine backups, took a little over an hour to back up 300+ gigs of files. Mine has a Seagate drive inside, runs quiet, fast, and cool... Cons: Has a 30mm fan inside that can get noisy if the drive is left on for long periods of time. I pulled out the factory fan and replaced it with a better quality one for about 6 bucks, she's nice a quiet now. Verdict: Nice working and nice looking... form + function = one killer drive!
Ultramax is hard to beat!6/5/2008
This is one of three UltraMax drives I've bought over the past few months. They're very quiet, run cool and offer several different connection options.

This is a great drive. Particularly useful are the different methods available to attach to your computer. I used this drive first on a MacMini using FW400. Then when I switched to an iMac I first used the USB until I had reformatted the drive using the GUID option after which I connected to the iMac using the FW 800. Great product and nicely priced.
