I bought this product about 5 months ago and it works great. The drive comes partitioned in 2 parts. One is a virtual cd, which is the encryption software that comes with the drive. the second part of the drive comes out to be about 930GB. I personally have not messed around with the encryption software because one i don't need it, and two, i would have to reformat the drive to get the encryption software to work. Despite there being some overhead from the partition, i still like my purchase. The cord is heavy duty and appears to be holding up quite well. I can not comment about the USB 3.0 as i do not yet have a computer with USB 3.0. I have not had any problems with power, or my computer recognizing the drive as i see others have written. I would recommend this product to anyone, epically someone looking for some descent encryption software.
Don't Buy - No power supply4/8/2011
Power is supplied from the USB cable and I believe can be too little of voltage. Iomega even gives you a second cable connector to bump the voltage; I am connected directly to the system board and not a hub. My PC freezes at the POST boot with the drive installed. Other Iomega drives I have work fine but not this model, I will possibly try a BIOS upgrade but still is a hassle, Transfer rates are only around 3 MB/s. Can't recommend. Iomega supprt won't help, told me it was in the PC.
Should be faster2/20/2011
I have this drive for 2 months and started to give me problems. After about 10 min computer can not see drive any more and can not use it. I constantly have to unplug and plug in. I have seen speed of 110 mb/s on USB 3.0 but very quickly goes down to about 40mb/s. with that speed you may as well use USB2.0 hard drive.
Superspeed portable drive2/1/2011
Experimenting with drives is my passion. The high speeds of the drives are a nice break from the routine. I love this drive’s simplicity of usage. One best feature in this drive is it is safe from both outside and inside. It has data protection software inside and a drop guard band outside. Compactness and style add the charm. This little drive is a good addition to my collection of hard drives.
Rugged look, simple drive1/20/2011
I have been using this for quite sometime now. This happens to be one of the reliable drives I have at home. Installation and initializing the drive did not take too long. It is a user-friendly drive. I like its compactness and rugged style. This has one of the best data protection and drop protection feature. I recommend this product to others.

Love the drive! It is fast, compact, and durable. It works great. What more could you ask for in an external drive.
Works fine but awkward1/14/2011
I had the 500 GB USB 2.0 version of the product and was very happy with it. The 1TB usb 3.0 version is much thicker (to be expected I suppose since the internal drive must be the 12.5mm version rather the the usual 9.5 mm thickness) and the performance maxes out a USB 2.0 connection (33MB/s) and I have seen speeds of 95MB/s on USB 3.0. However ... , It always mounts as 2 drives, 1 CD and 1 hard drive (I am not encrypting the drive) and it rarely "ejects" properly. I could not format or partition the offending CD drive away. The "Value added software/firmware" is a value subtraction to me. The connector seems a bit delicate to me.
Portable and superspeed1/13/2011
I have huge important office data files that needed to be kept at one place safely. I was looking for the large capacity drive for the same. My friend suggested me to search for Iomega products to suit my requirements. Then I found out this particular drive that’s apt for my needs. This drive is very compact and also has the superspeed USB 3.0 feature. It was easy to install and use the drive. Overall, I am glad that I got this one.
Iomega eGo 1TB USB 3.0 Portable Hard Drive1/12/2011
Very pleased with the product. It seems very fast.
Nice drive, small in size and well protected with the rubber bumper. Some challenges to get it to work with a MAC but once fixed, works well.
Good product, great delivery1/8/2011
Very pleased with the product and I received overnight shipping, which was not expected.
The new usb is much faster than the old one. Overall great performance
A gadget’s upgrade can actually improve its performance. Although this 35326 is a look alike of eGo’s USB 2.0 version this one is indeed an upgrade to USB 3.0 and it is much the same in its compactness and style.
Iomega does it again11/13/2010
I have had at least a dozen portable hard drives from several manufacturors. Iomega units just never fail. All six are still in operation. Other units have hit the recycle bin that are newer than some of the Iomegas. Iomega units are quiet, fast and most importantly they are VERY reliable. This new unit seems to be extremely fast.
A portable hard drive that’s promising11/4/2010
Living life as a gadget freak is an exciting experiment. I find the superhigh speeds a nice break from the usual speeds. 35326 is really faster and has a good backup protection. This little portable hard drive is a good addition to my collection of storage devices.
