After upgrading to a system with USB 3.0, I purchased this drive with high expectations. I had issues with this drive almost immediately. After re-assigning its drive letter through Windows, my entire system locked, forcing me to perform a hard reboot. After rebooting, the drive was recognized with the correct (re-assigned) drive letter, so I started copying data. The drive lost communication with my PC every few minutes - locking up my entire system until the drive was physically disconnected (unplugging the cable). I upgraded my system's USB 3.0 driver, with the hope this was the cause of the lock-ups. Unfortunately, it was not. This drive continued to lock up my system. Needless to say, the drive was returned to Buy.com (kudos to Buy.com for a painless return process). I've since purchased a Western Digital USB 3.0 drive that has been 100% trouble free.

Excellent Drive

by A customer on 11/26/2010

I just got this drive and works great. Small and compact. I used the encryption that iomega gave and its good. It only took a couple minutes to encrypt whereas bitlocker took over 5 hrs. It comes up as a CD and you just click on the program it asks for your password and your drive is ready to use. I have not tried the USB3.0 speeds yet as I still need an adapter. Read More

A Blackbelt

by Leonard on 12/28/2010

Easy to set up and proceed with work. I did not spend much time on installations, software download and initializing the drive. The protection and grip is something new and as long as the hard drive remains full-fledged compact, I don't see any trouble. It looks compact and doesn't need much space. It keeps up its name as “Blackbelt”. Read More
