After upgrading to a system with USB 3.0, I purchased this drive with high expectations. I had issues with this drive almost immediately. After re-assigning its drive letter through Windows, my entire system locked, forcing me to perform a hard reboot. After rebooting, the drive was recognized with the correct (re-assigned) drive letter, so I started copying data. The drive lost communication with my PC every few minutes - locking up my entire system until the drive was physically disconnected (unplugging the cable).
I upgraded my system's USB 3.0 driver, with the hope this was the cause of the lock-ups. Unfortunately, it was not. This drive continued to lock up my system. Needless to say, the drive was returned to Buy.com (kudos to Buy.com for a painless return process).
I've since purchased a Western Digital USB 3.0 drive that has been 100% trouble free.
