Performance

So far I am happy with it (performance wise) but their are a couple of things that bother me. I own a mac laptop and I specifically purchased this item because it is Mac compatible but some of the software doesn't work with a Mac, just windows. One of which is the fileshare. It is very cool program but I can only install it on my Dell Laptop. Therefore I can only get files from the Dell and not the Mac. It also says on the online manual that you have to format the hard drive in order to get full performance (or the full 250GB) but I didn't do that and mine still had the full amount. I am/was confused on that issue. In the manual (what little they give you) it says Automatic Backup is only for Windows but it works on my Mac. The performance is great, very quiet and decent size. It doesn't take too long for the files to transfer. I am not trying to put down this product but those are a couple of flaws I thought you should know if you owned a Mac. -k.

I just had this HDD for 4 days, and so far I am happy with it (performance wise). I own a Dell Inspiron 9500 laptop with Windows XP Mediacenter OS and I had absolutely no trouble hooking it up with the HDD. Though it says 250 GB, but I can see the available memmory is ~ 240 GB, though I haven't tried formatting it. The size is decent, but a bit heavy(~3 lbs). In all, a nice product.
