Raymond Burr is...
| From their uniquely equipped office at SFPD headquarters, Chief Ironside (Raymond Burr) continues to lead his special police unit, fighting crime others can't. His crack team includes Sgt. Ed Brown (Don Galloway), ex-con-turned-assistant Mark Sanger (Don Mitchell), and beautiful policewoman Eve Whitfield (Barbara Anderson, who won an Emmy for this role). With superb story lines dealing with socially important topics like racism, drugs, abortion and terror on a college campus, Ironside's second season continued the tradition of attracting special guest stars--including Milton Berle, Anne Baxter, Bill Bixby, Ricardo Montalban, Burgess Meredith, Ed Asner, and many more! This seven disc coillection includes 26 episodes from Season Two of Ironside! |
"...a lot of close-ups, punctuated with the occasional extreme angle and moments of weirdly expressionistic editing...and Burr himself was a likeably gruff bastard... Noel Murray, The Onion A.V. Club

Editor's Note
Milton Berle, Anne Baxter, Bill Bixby, Ed Asner, and others guest starred in the second season of this award-winning 1960s police drama, which first aired on NBC in 1967, and featured Raymond Burr as the indefatigable, wheelchair-bound Robert T. Ironside. In addition to its highly entertaining action scenes and fast-paced plotting, the show was widely lauded for its inclusion of pressing social issues, from racism and drug use to abortion. Twenty-six episodes are included in this release.
