3 Times the Laughs. 3 Times the Stupid. 3 Times the Pain.
Johnny knoxville and company return for the third installment of their TV show spin-off, where dangerous stunts and explicit public displays rule.

"...Jackass is also a touching ode to male friendship at its most primal.  Dan Kois, Washington Post
"...the same old Jackass antics -- and we wouldn't have it any other way.  Bill Gibron, Filmcritic
"If you can't do something smart, do something right. And Knoxville simply does it right.  Felix Vasquez Jr, Cinema Crazed

Editor's Note
The JACKASS pranksters are at it again in this third outing, presented for the first time, in some theaters, in 3D -- an effect that redefines the use of the in-your-face technology. Once again, Johnny Knoxville and his cohorts gather together and dream up new childish ways to make each other -- and their audience -- giggle uncontrollably. Whether it's pummeling one another in their groins or throwing together half-cooked skits that employ everything from costumes, sets, wild animals, and most often, feces, the boys are a wealth of "you shouldn't do this -- we're not even sure if we should" comedy. Jeff Tremaine returns to direct the MTV Films/Paramount Pictures production.

Expert Review Jackass 3D - Blu-Ray Review
filmcritic.com DVD Reviews

Whether they're covered in filth, excrement, or any other bodily or environmental fluids, the Jackass gang always seem to be having a good time. Even as bones are broken, bladders are ruptured, and vital organs are destroyed, the friendship between Johnny Knoxville and his scatology-as-slapstick brothers in (fractured) arms -- Bam Margera,  Steve-O, Ryan Dunn, Chris Pontius, Ehren McGhehey, Preston Lacy, Dave England, and Jason "Wee Man" Acuña -- is absolutely addictive. For their third feature-length film, these arrested adolescents have decided to delve into the cinematic "stunt" of 3D. While the new optical gimmick adds some interesting touches, the rest of the film is the same old Jackass antics -- and we wouldn't have it any other way....read the full review

Jackass 3 is a little less balls-to-the-wall. There are more sketches that rely on harmless fun, or worse, gross-out humor. I'm not arguing gross-out humor has no merit, it's just when you have back-to-back moments of nastiness like Batter Up, a sketch where Chris Pontius hits ping pong balls with his private parts into Bam Margera's mouth, followed by Bathroom Cocktail Supreme, where Steve-O gets rocketed into the sky via a porta-potty full of poo, the premise gets a little old....read the full review

The Jackass team reunited for a third feature film of their sadomasochist antics. Forget understanding why the fellows do what they do; I barely understand why I watch them. But there is something compelling about sitting around with your friends, especially after sipping a few grown-up beverages, testing the limits of what you can stand watching as the group tests the limits of what they can stand doing to themselves and each other....read the full review

Box Office
3 stars out of 5 -- "[T]he movie has enough going for it to satisfy JACKASS' legions of fans and make some new ones." 10/15/2010

Los Angeles Times
"[The skits] are funny in their humiliating wince-y way.... 10/16/2010

Variety
"Few suffer as cheerfully for their art as Johnny Knoxville and his band of scatological stuntmeisters, and the gut-busting pleasure they take in every act of self-humiliation proves as infectious as ever in JACKASS 3D." 10/14/2010

Movieline
"[M]any of the gags in JACKASS 3D show plenty of visual wit, if not brilliance..." 10/15/2010

A.V. Club
"JACKASS 3-D is powered by a shamelessly regressive but infectious adolescent prankishness. Knoxville holds the whole scatological mess together with this irascible charm and leading-man charisma..." 10/15/2010

Rolling Stone
"By using physical comedy out of silent movies and offering up their own flesh, blood and sinew, they invented their own kind of performance art..." 10/14/2010

Washington Post
3 stars out of 4 -- "[A] touching ode to male friendship at its most primal....The atmosphere in the world of JACKASS is one of infectious bonhomie." 10/15/2010

Entertainment Weekly
"[Knoxville] may be the purest, most devoted slapstick anarchist in comedy today....JACKASS 3D has the moments you crave, the ones that go beyond standard pain-freak buffoonery to attain a kind of gloriously demented, jaw-dropping daftness." -- Grade: B 10/21/2010

Sight and Sound
"The movie is again a series of gags strung together, sometimes given titles, and they can be as abruptly funny as pratfalls and as cathartically satisfying as an unfolding dare." 12/01/2010

Empire
3 stars out of 5 -- "[T]he wallops hit harder....The lads really have embraced 3D in a big way..." 11/05/2010

Total Film
3 stars out of 5 -- "In places, such as the Busby Berkeley-ish opener, the 3D's beautiful, with paintballs exploding in impossible rainbows across naked torsos..." 01/01/2011

Time 7 of 10
Knoxville and his team bring a defiant cheerfulness to their venture; the gang's idiocy is both self-aware and somehow innocent. Their gags have the anachronistic simplicity of pre-CGI stunts, when daredevils risked their lives to make an audience go "Wow!" - Richard Corliss
