	Savoy Jazz's Jazz for When You're Not Alone is a companion piece to the labels' collection Jazz for When You're Alone. Where that set was made up of moody ballads and sad songs, this collection is made up of romantic tunes and love ballads. As with all of Savoy's Jazz For series, the songs are drawn from the catalog of the Muse label from the '70s, '80s, and '90s and the artist roster contains some very big names like Sonny Stitt, Curtis Fuller, Bobby Hutcherson, Cedar Walton and Woody Shaw, as well as some lesser but still worthy performers like Russell Gunn, Wallace Roney and Vincent Herring. Although the songs date from well-beyond jazz's peak years, the performances are uniformly solid and the disc is a nice, low-priced collection of in-the-mood music. ~ Tim Sendra
