Journey Home (Paperback)
Evocative and Inspiring6/9/2005
"My first descriptive thought beginning the book was this is a vivid book of poetry; I felt like I could almost hear natures relaxing soothing sounds with a notably fearless use of stream of consciousness. Burke is not afraid to go for a ride through the tangential thoughts of the characters. As a big James Joyce fan, I love that! There are a nice array of characters involved in an interesting story. I would definitely be interested in reading a sequel... (or a prequel!) I thought, 'I just want to find out what happens!' It is a wonderful book - a very enjoyable read. The writing is very evocative and inspiring. The alley scene was riveting!! Get the word out. Seems to me people should be concerned with the message Burke has woven in and out the story's framework, and not what color their next cell phone should be."
