|The Kenko 3-Piece DG Automatic Extension Tube Set is designed specifically for use with Canon digital SLR cameras and lenses ranging from macro to semi-telephoto and allows the photographer to enable a lens to focus closer than its normal set minimum focusing distance. Getting closer has the effect of magnifying your subject (making it appear larger in the viewfinder and in your pictures). They are exceptionally useful for macro photography enabling you to convert almost any lens into a macro lens at a fraction of the cost while maintaining its original optical quality. These extension tubes have no optics. They are mounted in between the camera body and lens to create more distance between the lens and film plane. By moving the lens father away from the film or CCD sensor in the camera the lens is forced to focus much closer than normal. The greater the length of the extension tube the closer the lens can focus. This set contains three tubes of different length -- 12mm 20mm and 36 mm -- which can be used individually or in any combination to obtain the desired magnification. These extension tubes are designed with all the circuitry and mechanical coupling to maintain auto focus and TTL auto exposure with most Canon lenses given there is enough light to activate the cameras AF system properly.|
Customer Reviews of Kenko Macro Automatic Extension Tube Set + Tripod + Accessory Kit for Canon EOS Digital SLR Cameras
Happy with tubes8/30/2011
I like to place a Kenko tube behind my 70-200 2.8 and 300 f/4 for macro purposes. If I use one tube at a time auto focus is spot on. When stacking two or more tubes auto focus is jumpy and focus searches more. The release button is a little too easy to engage while mounted which makes it problematic for your lens slipping off. You just have to assure to keep your hand /fingers off of that button. Otherwise great bargain.
Exactly what I needed!8/30/2011
Perfect set of extension tubes. Having three sizes definately comes in handy for when you just need to get a little closer to insanely close with all three! Since there is no glass they will produce the exact same thing you get with Canon brand extension tubes. Has all the necessary circuitry for autofocus and lens info but I highly recomend using manual focus anyway! Absolutely no bad comments here everything is top notch solid construction solid locking mechanisim.
