|Put a lock on your personal data.
With identity theft on the rise, personal security should be a number-one priority. Kingston’s DataTraveler® Locker family provides personal security for your files when you’re on the go. Its hardware encryption safeguards even the most sensitive data in case the drive is lost or stolen. Your password becomes the only key to access the data that you care about.
Kingston’s DataTraveler Locker USB Flash drive has user-defined personal security. The public zone can be used like any other standard USB Flash Drive for everyday documents, music, photos and more. When defined and set up by the user, the private zone can protect more sensitive data such as tax returns, work documents and other confidential data. DataTraveler Locker’s easyto- use setup process allows you to determine what portion of the drive you want to keep public and what portion you want to be private. Create your own password on the private portion to protect against unauthorized access.
DataTraveler Locker features a swivel design for ease of use with capacities up to 16GB and is also a great promotional item for businesses; your company logo can appear on it to increase your brand recognition.
DataTraveler Locker is backed by a five-year warranty, 24/7 tech support and legendary Kingston® reliability.

Hardware encryption -- rare and special10/11/2011
This flash drive is the most affordable one featuring hardware encryption, a CPU on the chip that encrypts the contents. This allows it to be used when travelling at hotels, internet cafes, borrowed PCs and other locations where you don't have Administrator access. Software-encrypted drives (98% of them) require drivers be loaded and that can be difficult or impossible on the road. I use it to store my passport images, medical records, drivers license and other key documents when overseas. The instant it's pulled out of the USB port it becomes unreadable. If it falls out of my pocket I don't care because it's cheap. I also install portable applications (www.portableapps.com) tailored for my accounts with security. For example: my email, my Instant Messaging client, Skype, word processing, and other apps I don't want to run from some borrowed PC's hard drive. I can also surf without leaving traces on borrowed PCs because I use portable Firefox and tell it to cache on the USB drive.
This drive is fast and works well. Many flash drives are very slow. When you have a few small files to copy it's not a big deal, but when you want to copy 2.5 gigs and find it will take 30+ min it is a problem. This drive is very fast to read and write data. The metal flip cover is nice since there is no cap to lose. It also provides a little extra protection for the drive. At less than $10 after rebate you can't go wrong.
