Customer Reviews of Kingston DT Ultimate G3 64GB USB 3.0 Flash Drive
I will admit I have not tried other than Kingston USB3.0 flash drives, but I ordered this as a replacement for DT100 G3 64GB which would not work reliably in USB3.0 port, and performed poorly even when it did. This one works all the time so far, but writes 50% slower! Maybe there is a problem with my USB3.0 port? I'll try it in USB2.0 port and see if the performance is better, if so I guess I can blame ASUS for including a crappy USB3 chipset, but so far not very happy at all. Kingston support goes around replying to reviews for the DT100 G3 and politely goads people leaving negative reviews to buy a more expensive one because the cheap G3 model is "an Entry Level USB3 drive" but their high-end sticks are even worse. Don't waste your time with this brand.
worked OK, but quit working in 3 weeks3/1/2013
I'm in general happy with kingston drives, but this was not the case. This one was supposed to replace my 32 gb USB 3.0 FlashVoyager (I lost cap, and I thought I needed bigger drive, anyway). Kingston did well at the beginning, but it seemed to be slower than Voyager (maybe because of size? My USB 2.0 64gb was MUCH slower than USB 2.0 32gb drive). Drive seemed physically pretty bulky as well. However, it still worked OK, and I was happy with it, until it quit completely after about 3 weeks, and I wasn't able to access or format it from any of my 2 desktops and 1 laptop. I returned it and received full refund. return / Refund process was pretty painless, I should say (Rakuten let me to print shipping label, and refunded the money after they received the item). I guess I should look for other brands now...
