Customer Reviews of Kingston V300 120GB 2.5" SATA III Solid State Drive (SSD)
This drive has been in use in my computer for over a month now. It appears to be working as expected - access and retrieval is fast, especially when searching large folders. It should be noted that this drive comes with no mounting attachments, so remember to order these and the necessary cables when you order this drive.

Functions as advertized & expected4/19/2014
Installed in my 7-year-old HP laptop (Core 2 duo, 2GB max RAM, Win7) to replace a 7,100 rpm 160GB drive. Definitely worth it - will extend its life & usability. Win7 boot-up is much faster, programs load faster, documents & projects open faster. Video rendering/processing is no faster because it is limited by my slower old processor. The SSD installation instructions only cover the physical mounting of the drive, but do not describe how to transfer everything from the drive you’re replacing. But there is plenty of advice online on how to back up your old drive to a disk image, and restore to the SSD. I decided to reinstall Win7 and all programs from scratch so I could get rid of years of accumulated junk, and ensure my Win7 install is optimized for SSD. Long process, but all went well. Properties for my 120GB SSD (C:) drive now shows: Capacity 111GB (119.9 billion bytes), used space 54.6GB, free space 57.0GB.

Google 'An Update to Kingston SSDNow V300: A Switch to Slower Micron NAND' before purchasing so that you can be more fully informed about Kingston's current questionable business practices.
A small booster12/20/2013
A new boot drive.... hoping it helps. I've seen reports that an SSD isn't worth it because it only speeds up disk access, but the system boots in 1/2 the time, programs (especially Firefox) load instantly,, overall it feels more responsive. and not waiting just feels good. I have not done any benchmark testing so I can't comment on I/O per second or maximum transfer rate. There are formal reviews for that. It works for me. I just hope it keeps working.
It was easy to install but I haven't seen that kind of improvement in my 3 year old Dell Inspiron laptop which I was hoping for. The capacity is only 100 GB although it says 120 GB. I don't know why. That's why I have given only 4 stars here.
Very fast at a great price with full 3 year warranty. Would definitely recommend.
