Good camera with no extras1/3/2011
I bought a Kodak EasyShare V550 a couple of years ago, and have been extremely happy with it, so when I saw this incredible deal, I had to snatch it up. I'm strictly a point-and-shoot guy, and like a camera I can carry in my pocket. Kodak cameras are an amazing value, and the thing I like most of all is their instantaneous capture of the image. I bought another camera before I bought my previous Kodak, and returned it because I couldn't take a picture of anything that was moving, as there was a significant lag between the time you pushed the button and the time the image was captured. With the Kodak this is not an issue. I also like the intuitive way that the controls are laid out. This IS a very basic model, though, with no recharger or even rechargeable batteries, and no docking station for hook up to your computer, but for $85, what do you want, egg in your beer?
don't buy refurbished12/31/2010
i bought this camera refurbished and pictures are fussy. overall camera is good and has good functionality hence i bought it but may be as it is refurbished the output is not sharp. i am trying to get it replaced.
Pretty nice camera for the money11/28/2010
Overall easy to use (point and shoot), takes nice pictures, panoramic picture taking is a nice feature but takes too long to process each frame (of total 3 frames), zoom is adequate enough, good overall camera for someone who just wants to take nicer pictures without spending a lot of money to buy digital SLR. Can't really go wrong with this camera for everyday picture taking chores including photos for on-line business such as ebay.
Great value for camera with these features10/31/2010
Looking for a camera somewhere between a simple point and shoot and a full DSLR for my college age son. This fit the bill perfectly. It has the ability to use some manual control - or have it be completely auto. I've had great results - particularly with the various scene modes. I've been using redchargeable batteries and getting good results there too. For someone looking for that "in between" camera - this is a great choice.
Just wastage of Money...8/25/2010
I have been using Kodak Z740 since 2006 and quality is just wonderful. After its flash broke, I bought Z915 from Dell and it was the worst I can ever have or will have. I might have to just throw it in trash. It has 10 mp/10x opt zoom but it doesn't even compete to 50% quality of what my old model camera of the same brand is giving me. Indoor photos are just not good. They show lots of dots as if light is too low though I have enough of it. out door is ok but doesn't look like I bought a better resolution. Flash is good for nothing. I took some pictures on my kids birthday and recitle and every photo was a bad one. Even though I set the mode to proper one but same bad quality. I don't recommend any kodak from now to anyone. I am not an expert but used a lots of cameras until now including 950 but they are all the same. I am shocked to see such a poor performance from Kodak :-( At least they should have mentioned that its only good if used outdoor in good sunlight. After sunset, picture quality goes to smae poor level even though its not dark yet. I have compared pictures shot with my Z740 at the same time and they are simply good. Don't waste your money. Better buy a sony for a little more.
