Color illustrations accompany the text.Factual information about the Komodo dragon is gracefully woven into this story about a boy's trip to the Indonesian island of Komodo. The boy imagines that when he travels to the island, he will come face-to-face with the monitor lizard commonly known as the Komodo dragon. However, when he arrives on Komodo, he is disappointed to discover that the island is so full of other tourists that he can't see anything. Frustrated, the boy goes off on a walk--and soon has the very encounter he has so long dreamed of.
