Works well, great value for the price
Since this product does video/audio encoding via software rather than custom silicon, you'll need a fairly modern and fast computer to do the job right, but most recent computers should be able to handle it easily. The software is quite easy to use (only a couple obscure features that take a little digging to find, which is why I gave it a 4 for Ease Of Use) and works reliably. I've tried capturing both live video from a camera as well as feeds from videotape with great results. Have tried both Composite and S-Video inputs; both work flawlessly with the included cables. One aspect of the software that I like very much is the input flexibility. For instance, you can choose to capture video via either Composite or S-Video, then separately select audio input via either the included cable stereo RCA jacks or any other system input, including your sound card's LineIn or Microphone inputs. So for live video, you can connect a headset to your system's Mic input for much better audio quality than using the camcorder's built-in mic. Highly recommended as a first step before investing in a much more expensive (hardware encoding) card, especially for casual use. Try this first; it may be all you ever need to do the job.
