A distinguished professor of 20th-century art history, Rosalind Epstein Krauss has written and edited many books. In addition, she has contributed articles to Artforum magazine, Art International, Art in America, and co-edited the journal October since 1975. Krauss has taught at Princeton University, Hunter College, and Columbia University, where she was appointed Meyer Schapiro Professor of Modern Art and Theory in the late 1990s. Krauss has received numerous awards and fellowships for her scholarship and critical writings, and has curated a number of exhibitions both in New York City and abroad. Krauss's contribution to modern-art scholarship is significant; she and others have shown that criticism and theoretical concerns are essential components of the examination of modern and contemporary art and artists.
