The user-friendly LaCie Hard Disk, Design by Neil Poulton adds sophisticated style to your desktop, yet its presence is quiet and unobtrusive. It has a unique distinguishing feature—a blue LED strip on its underside that creates an ambient glow. Its subtle, all-black design blends perfectly into dark home entertainment setups and workstations. Very small for its vast capacity, this lightweight, compact drive has a fashionable, mirror-polished finish. The smartly engineered design allows for heat dissipation and near-silent, fanless operation. With Hi-Speed USB 2.0, this efficient external hard drive makes a great companion to your PC or Mac. Setup is nearly effortless; it’s plug & play, offers customizable formatting, and comes with LaCie Backup Assistant and USB Boost.
Customer Reviews of LaCie 2TB High Speed USB 2.0 External Hard Drive Designed by Neil Poulton
I have been using these little black boxes by LaCie/Neil Poulton for years, and this drive was no surprise. Fast, easy to set up, reliable, and great quality. I use it with both my Macs and PC's as a transfer drive and never have to worry about it. Highly recommended.
Just got this hard drive a couple of days ago and it suits my needs perfectly! The setup assistant auto formats the drive for you right when you plug it in. I'm using this drive as the time machine backup on my new Macbook Pro 17" and it was super easy to get it up and running. The added feature of USB 3.0 gives me the option to upgrade to superspeed USB if I choose to in the future with a LaCie USB 3.0 Expresscard/34, but for now USB 2.0 speed is just fine. At around 100 bucks, the price was just right for 1TB of space and USB 3.0 together in one package. Have not had any issues thus far with the drive itself. I would recommend this product.
I ordered a bunch of these for desktop backup on our network, I only wish there was no limit on the amount I could order.
Slick Little Box9/7/2010
I bought this because of the price and the 2 TB capacity, but the design and functionality is also amazing. I have it hooked up to my dual band Airport Extreme as a networked external HD. I partitioned it for each of our laptops and now each can back up using Time Machine wirelessly. The blue LED access light looks like it belongs on the Starship Enterprise. I've owned LaCie devices before and this has been a great experience after a couple weeks.
