|The LaCie Rikiki (which means "tiny" in French) is one of the smallest mobile hard drives on the market today. With the Rikiki, you don’t have to choose between capacity and mobility; it’s perfect for anyone who needs constant access to their music, photos, files, and entire digital world. Its brushed aluminum casing works on two levels: it helps protect your data, but also gives the Rikiki a sophisticated look. The aluminum exterior is tough, but it’s also light enough for mobility, ensuring your data will always make it to its destination. USB Boost software is included for enhanced speeds and performance up to 33% (Windows® only). With the robust software suite included, the Rikiki is a user-friendly choice, regardless of whether you’re on a Mac® or a PC. LaCie Backup Assistant is included to help you manage your backups, so there’s no need to worry about losing data, and the LaCie Setup Assistant gets you up and running immediately.|
Works out of the box; no problems1/1/2011
Not much to say here except I opened the box, plugged it in, partitioned to two partitions -- one for Windows NTFS; I've yet to format the other as OSX partition but that' my plan. I put files on the NTFS partition and have copied things and made backups, etc. The unit is quiet and works fine -- it's seems quick but not sure if that's the norm (hence the 4 in the performance category). It looks nice, comes with a short USB cable (which can be good or bad); I like the short cable because I don't like extra clutter. Either way, after about 2 weeks of use, I love it and so far would recommend it.
