Album Notes and Credits

Notes & Personnel Info
Muze PNote Growing continue their quest for the perfect soundwave on their Social Registry debut, LATERAL, a four-song drone exercise that entrances like a slowly turned kaleidoscope. "Swell," the album's opener, seems like an early Brian Eno ambient track before morphing into what sounds like a traffic jam in a galactic cityscape. Joe Denardo and Kevin Doria are patient geniuses who pull cyclical patterns of sound out of seeming nothingness. A must for fans of drone and ambient music.

Engineer: Dave Bryant

Professional Reviews

Spin (p.102)
- 3.5 stars out of 5 -- "These four pieces never sacrifice forward motion and melody -- or at least hooks -- for obtuse atmosphere, blending electronic flickers with washes of amplifier buzz and a surprisingly heavy rumble."

The Wire (p.55)
- "'First Contact' is bright, friendly and almost conversational as the chirps bounce back and forth....'After Glow' sinks into a galactic ocean of reverb..."
