Editor's Note
Director Hirotsugu Kawasaki adapts author Takafumi Takada's popular fantasy novel into a sweeping anime adventure in which a young boy who travels back in time to lead mankind in a war against invading demons. Jun Tendo is a timid 15 year old who suddenly finds himself thrust 1,200 years into the past, when the human race faces certain extinction at the hands of powerful demons. Just when it looks like all hope is lost, Jun unleashes his inner hero and discovers powers he never thought possible. As the battle begins, the once-shy teen discovers the inner-courage to save the world, and drive the demons back into darkness.

| I am far from a big anime fan, although I must admit to being intrigued by it. It is a great style and leads itself to all manner of stories. That said, it suffers some of the same things that afflict all genres. One of those problems is that it can be incredibly difficult to weed out to quality stuff from the junk. How often have you turned on a movie only to discover that it really isn't that good? I know I have had that happen to me, more often now that I have been using Netflix. In any case, I like anime but am often discouraged by the high volume of stuff that I just flat out don't care for.
